The Cottage Grove Coyotes is a Class "A" amateur baseball team that belongs to the St. Paul League. The 2006 season will the Coyotes 4th season. The Coyotes look to build off a 6-12 league record in each of the first two seasons. In 2004, the Yotes picked up a couple of wins in the playoffs and found themselves a win away from the State Tournament. The Coyotes are a very young team. They are lead by a very talented pitching staff. Andy Vitcak, Andy Larson and Kyle Balder make up the rotation. With Matt Ruben, Nick Tuckner, Scott Seivert and others rounding out the pen. Vitcak was the 2004 pitcher of the year and Larson picked up the honor in 2003. Kyle Balder pitched a 14 inning gem against St Paul rival AFU in the playoffs in 2004. The offense is led by Scott Seivert, Adam Kieffer, Tim Bonine, Randy Schmidt and Adam Medlicott.

Where: Clover Leaf in Newport

What to Expect: Cottage Grove Coyotes Baseball fundraiser Bocce Ball tournament.

  • Teams will consist of four players (men, women, or mixed)
  • Entry fee is $10 per person ($40 per team)
  • There will be cash payouts, door prizes, raffles, and drink and food specials
  • Teams are guaranteed two games with a 12 team double elimination format

For those of you who have never played in an organized court bocce ball tournament don’t worry, it’s the same concept as if you were playing in the back yard. If you would like to get a team involved, send me your team name, your four players, and a team captain. I would like to collect the money by the first of JAN, which will more than likely be the deadline for sign-ups. I suggest getting a jump on this if you are interested as positions are filling fast. When I get your information, I will send you a list of the rules, teams registered, and some other useful information. If you don’t feel like getting a team involved, make sure to consider just coming down to hang out for the day. If you have any questions feel free to call or email me.
